Over the past year or so I have enjoyed running digital out from my Toshiba SD 9200 into a Panny saxr50
for music and home theater use. I was intrigued by the concept of keeping the signal in the 'digital domain'
through the receiver-amplifier all the way to the speaker and not have to pass through a DAC. It is a simple
and cost effective way to get some very clean sound.
Now I have also enjoyed some higher end seperates that did provide better sound (at a much higher price point)
using the analog out of sd9200 (very solid performer) (IRD Purist pre, PS audio hca-2 amp to various speakers).
Maybe I'm missing something here, but why don't I see other options to keep the signal digital in similar fashion as with the panny???With the tremendous growth of digital amps I thought there would be more movement away from stand alone dacs.
Recently, alll the buzz around the Altman DAC has got my attention and has brought this concept to mind.
Thanks in advance! ----Mark
