Has anyone actually seen "The Hulk" yet?

I have a weakness for bad movies, and this looks like cheesy good fun. The effects looked butt-puckeringly awful in the trailers. Problem is I'd really hate to spend any money to watch this (potential) turd of a movie, even with Jennifer Connelly in it.
Does it have any entertainment value aside from mocking the lame effects?

I might be seeing it tomorrow night, I might not. Don't know yet. Will let you know if it's worth bothering with if I catch it before you do.

Huh, an article in today's paper called The Hulk "the thinking person's action movie" ... looking forward to finding out what that means

I was told an hour or so ago that the private screening I was going to see was going to be played on a nasty screen in the cineplex.
And that if I wanted to see it on the good screen tonight, I can at 1 AM.
Not when I'd have to be up at work 3 hours after the 1 AM would get out.
Sorry Rob, can't give you a pre-release review on it...

I finally got around to seeing it yesterday evening.
The CGI wasn't actually as bad as I thought it was going to be. Makes me wonder if the CGI in the trailers was even finished yet.
But I will say the Ang Lee should never be allowed to make another comic book based movie ever again. The quick cuts, and split/multi screen views gets annoying after a bit. He was trying to create the comic book experience a bit too much. Multiple frames is fine on a page, but not when they're moving on a screen.
Maybe you all won't be bothered by it. But I certainly was.
I'd have to give it about a 6.5/10.

I liked it. You could argue that the editing was over the top but really no more than your typical Michael Bay film. Bottom line, as rediculous as the film is I was completely drawn in. Ang Lee is a master craftsman and I account much of this to him. Acting was good with a pitch perfect performance from Nick Nolte who actually looked like he was just released from prison.
My minor complaints are:
A little heavy handed. Sam Elliot's character needed some finesse so we could actually believe in his relationship with his daughter. Instead he is written off as your typical shallow military asshole. The Hulk itself was unbelievable at first but he managed to charm me and the audience as the film progressed.
Hulk taking on the tanks and choppers out in the desert blows any scene from the Matrix Reloaded away.

Liked it. Liked the split screens/wipes too. At first they were annoying, but I soon realized what Ang Lee was doing, and it worked.
Didn't like...
A poodle hulk dog? Did they do that just so Sam Shepard could say "he saved my daughter from a mutant poodle" ? Didn't work for me.
While most hulk scenes were better than I thought they would be, CGI still has a ways to go.
Liked...
Jennifer Connely... what can I say?
By the way, Ang Lee was quoted saying that the CGI for trailers was not done yet - especially the sooper bowl trailer. He complained that people didn't give it a chance because it wasn't done.
I dont' think he should have released any CGI images that weren't complete. They looked only okay when complete, and terrible before. My $0.02 worth.

Ohhhh
MAN
. What happened to Jennifer Conelly, I never thought she was that interesting, but now... wow. I'd even move back to the US for a date or three
I really enjoyed it. Yah yah so some stuff that didn't work out so well. Kinda slow at the beginning. I wish he (Ang Lee) figured out the whole biz with JC and the old man, was she trying to help Hulk or betray him? It shoulda ended at the point where he was in the water, the sequel would be more interesting that way. I mean, is the viewing public really so dumb as to think that unless you
beat them over the head that a sequel's coming
they won't get it?
Yeah the mutant poodle was stupid. For the record poodles are German in origin
I give it

All about the dog with the embarrassing poodle cut

I thought the
HULK
was better than the Matrix revisited but could not touch X-men2. CGI facial animation made him real. Beating up tanks and military helocopters were the bomb though. I hope they make another, now that the new back-story has been told and we can get some BAM BAMs in

I saw it a couple weeks ago and thought it was fun to watch. Jumping several miles at a time across the desert was pretty cool.
I second the motion for Jennifer Conelly. She used to be on my mental list of desirable celeb's, but then she fell off. She's definitely back on.
If you want to see her when she was real hot and topless, see "The Hot Spot" with Don Jonhson. Forget about watching the movie, just fast forward to where she gets naked. That's the only part of the movie worth watching, but it is worth watching.
Ok, so back to "The Hulk". Fun to watch, good special effects. Slow start, but I liked getting the background info since I watched the show as a kid.
BTW - I rented some of the old "HULK" movies with Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno. These were really extended TV shows more than movies. All I can say is, "Boy has movie making changed". I mean everything from the scripts, lighting, camera angles, special effects. It's all changed and these shows really seemed to show their age. But Lou looks so freakin huge. He would be scary even if he wasn't green.
BTW 2 - Did anyone notice his cameo in "The Hulk"?
