Looking for suggestions / opinions on universal players for DVD, CD, SACD that people have had good "two channel" experience with. I am looking at replacing my Pioneer elite DVD player and thought if I could combine a universal that did as good or better that my Musical Fidelity 3.5 I might give it serious consideration. Is this scenario atainable for less than $3000, with high quality in all formats ??

Although just sold today...here is a MAJOR redbook player that plays DVD-A and SACD.  Dan Wright is a genius and his modded 3910 is da bomb.

This Audiogoan sale at $1800 is criminal...a steal...something's amiss.  Most of Dan's 3910's go for $2400-$3k....still in your budget.  I think Jam'n Joe still has one for sale.

I wouldn't call it a steal, since it's being sold "used", I spoke with Dan today he is offering the Sony 9100ES with his Sig Truth Mods for $3500 or $2500 if I were to supply the player. I have heard numerous good things about his products , so I have him high on my consideration "radar screen"
