Tube testing
« on: 3 Sep 2006, 11:29 pm »
Guys,

With the Dodd amps I recently purchased, the seller gave me two quads of JJ EL-34 tubes in addition to the SED EL-34's.  However, he told me that two out of the 8 JJ tubes are bad and he doesn't know which two are bad.

I don't want to play around with bad tubes in the amp trying different combinations to identify the non-working ones.

Is there anybody out there who has a tube tester that would be willing to identify the bad tubes?

Thanks,

George

I have a tube tester...  'cept it doesn't work at the moment.  I think it is a bad rectifier.  I ordered another one.  When it comes, if it works, I'll test your tubes.

If you send them to me (Chicago area) and cover shipping, I'll be happy to test all your tubes George... :D

George,
I've got a couple of good tube testers as well - a TV7 and 539C.  I'd be glad to test the tubes for you if you make it back down to NY or if you feel like shipping them.
