sugarmegs audio to squeeze box possible?
« on: 27 Aug 2006, 12:41 pm »
Hello all,
First post here. Is any one familiar with the streaming audio site Sugarmegs.org? They have large selections of live concerts available to stream to a windows media player. Is it possible to use a sb to stream this to my stereo? I have looked at the FAQs etc and still am not sure if or how this is possible. They ability to access this site and stream those shows to my main rig will be the primary decision making factor in my buying a sb or not. Thanks to anyone with some input!

 Thanks Stu

Hmmm, interesting site.  Not sure if it's (currently) possible to stream that content via Squeezebox, but it might be possible with a workaround, or future plug-in.  FYI, Squeezebox already has a link for some live music archives in their Internet Radio selections.

I would post this question on the Slimdevices forum, where you'll find lots of expertise for this cutting edge stuff.

I beleive you can.  I have in the past typed in a url manually to stream to my stereo.  I think you would do the same thing.  If you can look up the url for the concert you wish to stream and enter it into the slimserver software I think it would work.

You can try pasting the url of the stream into the "Radio Tune In" feature.

Could work, what have you got to lose?
