Full Bottlehead Rig

Here are some pieces I did over a couple years. Paramour 2A3 SET amps built in a mirror configuration, Seduction phono pre with stands to hold my very custom Foreplay preamp. Many hours of fabrications, upgrades and meticulous assembly.

Here is the underside of the preamp. As you can see, it's a very simple design. While true to the original schematic, the layout is nothing like the kit build.

Here is one of the 2A3 amps. Again a very simple design and with a few modifications.

The phono pre is a somewhat more complicated. This really is a nice phono pre.

Ward:

You've outdone yourself on these. I've seen so many Bottlehead builds which resemble the NYC subway map that it's great to see some built right. Kudos!

Very nicely done. Mine is based on the Foreplay II. I haven't built a III yet.

Trivia: I'm the guy who cameup with that Bottlehead logo emblem on your pre. It is etched aluminum that is then dyed to give it that gold color.

No real secret here: take your time, patience will come through as a cleaner assembly. There is nothing gained by being in a rush to hear your new toy. So, just slow down, take your time with everything you do from running wire to soldering.

Thank you Mark. I do enjoy DIY. There is great satisfaction in building it yourself. By the way, do you have more pics or a writeup on the amp in your avatar?

Here ya go Wardsweb, a link to some more pics of my amp http://www.diytube.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=544 it's the diytube dynaco st-35 clone. It sounds wonderful on my Fostex FE166E horns but I now have set fever ( the 2A3 sounds so good on the Fostex horns) and I'm in the parts gathering stages for a convertible set amp. I'm planning to be able to run a 2A3, 300b, 45, 50, 10, 6A3, 6B4G etc with switchable filament voltage and switchabe B+ voltage.
