Best all time rock & roll album or song-Your choice

Hello Again,

I would like to know what others think? Which song or album would be the best rock and roll album that they have heard. There is so much good stuff out there that this will be hard to pin down. But let us just limit it to one album.

My own personal choice would be the "Rolling Stones" "Beggars Banquet" "Sympathy for the Devil". It still gets the juices flowing!!! As always, all the best.

Now that's a completely impossible-to-answer question. Some would even say silly. But I'll pick something anyway, for the hell of it.

Kinda a strange one, but Guided by Voices "Bee Thousand" is by far my favorite rock album. The lo-fi recording quality, however, only sounds good in my '88 Mazda

But if I wanted to be agreeable, I'd probably vote for Who's Next.

There is no best album or song, at least not that you would ever be able to get any agreement on. But I do have some personal favorites.

Favorite Album - Elton John, Madman Across The Water
Favorite Song - Mason Williams, Classical Gas

As always, my personal tastes are subject to change. But these 2 have defintiely stood the test of time.

Mmm yes, see I have to change my vote already. "The Wall" would have to usurp "Moving Pictures". "Still Of The Night" is a damn good song choice too...those riffs!

Dark Side of the Moon is pressed hard by Band on the Run in my library - I never 'really' thought any one album by the Beatles was all rock 'n' roll despite growing up with them

(in Blackpool - 40 miles or so from Liverpool!) First record I ever bought was Twist and Shout - a 4 track, 45 rpm EP (where ever is that now

McCartney has shown himself to be a the genuine rocker over the years (in my veiw...)

Can any of the albums / tracks mentioned so far be honestly called 'rock and roll'?

Rock certainly, but rock and roll I associate with a dance from the 50's - to the music of Bill Haley, Carl Perkins, Elvis and (in UK) Gene Vincent, Cliff Richard and other pale imitations of American artists of the era.

My all time favourite track is Whiter Shade of Pale by Procul Harem but most of their albums were packed with make weight stuff....
