Most new customers don't read manual so it is important to note that P-8 and IA-7 has memory retention (even with power off) feature for input selection and volume level.
1) When turn on P-8 for the very first time, turn down the volume.
2) Always turn on/off P-8 and IA-7 using the remote control or by pushing the Selector Knob. Otherwise the memory retention function will not work. Switching off the power switch at the back is optional.
3) If you play very loud music, lower the volume before you turn it off. Otherwise you'll start with a very high volume the next time you turn on the unit.
