I'd really like to make it, but have to work until 6.
I might be able to get off a little early, but will have to see in a day or so.

Likewise, have to check with my social director as to her plans for me as well.

Will get back here in a couple of days....

We're doing the bed and breakfast thing on the 15th - should be back in time to make it over.

Hi Willie,
I need to check with Paul Hilgeman and see what time he plans to set up. I'll be cooking in the early afternoon so you're welcome anytime after 2. I'll let everyone know the final schedule after I've talked to Paul.

Hiya Guys,

We all got so wrapped up in listeing to the Ronin's and visiting that we forgot to have a meeting  Oh well, there really wasn't too much to cover anyway so I thought I'd toss it out here.

Before I send a little bit about us to the Post Dispatch I thought we should try to get a little more organized on our gatherings. Basically I thought we could do like our neighbors at the NYAR do and just toss out some months of the year and have everybody jump in and take a month and host a gathering.

Don't panic, it doesn't have to be a huge one. Absolutely limit the number of invitees if you only have room for a few. Thats no big thing. And don't worry if you think your system isn't up to the task. Alan made mention of this to me last night that people might not be interested in hearing your gear. Thats the great thing about our group, no matter whos house we are at, it seems as if everybody is more than willing to bring some guest gear. And what better way to hear something different in your system so you can judge for yourself how something sounds.

And heck, if we run out of 'new' gear, all we have to do is pick up a phone and call a manufacturer and a big chunk of them would be happy to send along something for us to listen to. As an example, Bill at Response has always offered to send down nearly anything he has in stock for us to sample (short of the D-2's, ......hey Bill you payin attention?). Wayne at Bolder is the same way. Plus, if I have anything that is portable or will work in somebody elses system, I'd be happy to bring it (or them) along so we have something new to listen to.

So.....what do you guys think about starting off easy. Lets say we start with regular gatherings every other even month. I know Steve just had one but if somebody would be willing to step up for October then I'll host our usual Christmas bash in December. If it looks like it takes off pretty well, then we can think about doing one every month.

So what do you guys think?

If everybody is OK with it, we can make a new post (or sticky) with the even numbered months and everybody that is willing can grab one.

Sounds good to me Scott.  If you want to have a face to face to figure out a little more, a few of us talked last night about having a meeting somewhere that there isn't any gear to distract us.  Maybe meet somewhere easy to get to for everyone?  Just meet for a couple brews after work some night and discuss?

I agree with Bryan. Listening sessions every couple months is great but I think we should meet for a beer to discuss business. Someplace central would be great. Yesterday was too much fun (and distractions) for a serious discussion.

That works, Tims offer is still open for meeting at The Sound Room I think. For the record, I'm toast until after Thursday (9/27) of next week. Anytime after that should work for me.

Anybody else?

Anybody got an idea of where to meet?  Either somewhere somewhat centrally located or at least somewhere that's easy to get to.  We had thrown around Sybergs at 270 and Dorsett simply because it was easy to get to from pretty much everywhere.

Thoughts?

The offer of the Sound Room board room is still there. We can have it pretty much anytime after hours, I just need a couple of days notice. It's right around the corner from Growlers.
Regarding another get together at my place . Due to extended working hours I won't be able to host between Thanksgiving and Christmas. I might be able to squeeze something in before then. Lets get the sit down meeting organised so we can get things hashed out.
