Adona Corporation Platforms
« on: 22 Aug 2006, 01:40 am »
Its a gratifying feeling to experience a product that adds an immediate and significant improvement to the sound of one's system. The Adona Platform did just that for me under my TRL Sony DVP-NS900V player. I couldn't believe the increased transparency, focus, inner detail, bass articulation, tonality and PRAT. Wow! :o I have tried numerous isolation devices lately and the Adona Platform is clearly the best under my CDP. Better than the Acoustic Dream Balls, Cera Balls, Maple Platforms, Sand Box, Brass Feet, Panda Feet, VibraPods, and etc. that I have tried. The Adona Platforms, however, did not perform as well as the Boston Audio Design Tune Block XT/Carbide Balls under my preamplifier nor did they fair as well on my amplifiers. The SAS 10A works extremely well with the Tune Blocks and the Odyssey Audio Khartago Mono Extremes prefers their own feet over any isolation device I've tried under them.

I highly recommend seeking out the Adona Platforms especially under CDPs.

Totally agree here Marcus.  I have Adona racks and stands and they are exceptional build quality.  Paul is terrific to deal with to boot!   :thumb:

I purchased two Adona Platorms for my CDP and SAS 10A. My first attempt with the SAS 10A under the Adona platform wasn't impressive. I called Steve at SAS and he recommended removing the rubber feet and set the preamp directly on the platform. Better...but not enough. So I placed the Acoustic Dream Dead Balls under the SAS 10A with the Adona Platform. Yeah! Next I'll try the Boston Audio Tune Blocks with Adona Platform.

A great combination is the Adona platform with a Sistrum platform on top of it.

I have my TacT 2.2x and RSA Haley power conditioner on top of that combo.

George, what model Sistrum platform do you use under your preamplifier?

Earlmarc,
What do you use to couple the Adona platform to the shelf (i.e isn't the Adona platform a combination of granite and MDF, with coupling feet sold separately)?  I want to try it under my Modwright Denon 3910 and wondered what feet or cones to use under the platform.  Thx

Ted,

The Adona platforms come with cones for feet.  Best I can tell they are standard cones that could be purchased from Parts Express at a fairly low cost.

This was definitely the case when I purchased my four Adona platforms last year.  Might be a good idea to check with Paul at Adona to verify.

Hi Ted,

I would recommend the SP-1 under the 3910 or just Audiopoints on a standard shelf providing you have enough room for and additional 3-1/2", 1-1/2" for a single set of Audiopoints without a rack. If your going to set the unit off to the side on its own and not it a rack with the rest of your components, then the SP-101 would work the best but that is really designed to be an amp stand. I sell and use the Sistrum racks so I already have a SP-101 for each shelf, the only difference is that my post are 2' tall and I have 3 shelves instead of one. That's what the Denon was sitting on before.

George,
Thanks for the reply.  I first assumed that feet/points would be included, but asked the question after perusing the Adona website.  This is the last bullet in the platform description page:
"*Coupling feet are not included but are available seperately."

Joe,
Thanks for the alternate options.

You are correct Ted.  Sorry about putting out wrong info.

Here is the Adona product I own:

I decided to not keep them stacked, but instead use them in a single level configuration.

Hello,

Does anyone know how to get a hold of Adona Corp?  I called, I E-Mailed, Nada.  The last time I opened my wallet my money was just as green as everyone else.  Are they on vacation?

                                            Thank You,

arthurs is correct.

I just spoke with Paul. They have been on vacation in Florida for the past 10 days.

They are back in town and ready to sell some product

Paul is going to supply some of their racks for BOLDER Cable to use at the RMAF. This will be the second time we will display together.

Here are a couple of bad photos from that show:

If you are at all interested in taking a look at these racks and shelves, which look A LOT better in person, please stop by room 1009.

It may be worth your while to stop back again on Sunday. Last time Paul was very motivated to sell the rack at a very good discount rather than shipping them back to Virginia.

I believe George was very happy with what he ended up paying for them  :icon_lol:
