Ryan:

Very good idea (I think!  :)). Nice price point. From the input impedence and size, it also looks like ICEpower. Can you give us a few more details? Thanks.

Larry Welsh

Hi Larry,

It is in fact ICEpower.  What other details would you like to know?  Cheers!

Ryan - wierd thing about price.  Like most have reading great things about the Leviathan monos but was definately beyond my budget for an amp.  And now these $249 each, well you can barely buy a decent power cord for the price, so not sure what to think about how these might relate to their more powerful sibling.      Will keep reading but hard not to take a flyer on a pair of Red Dragon monoblocks for this price.

Does it meet the FCC or CISP-11 class B conducted and radiated emissions limits?  I don't see a sticker indicating compliance on the picture.

$5.95 for an audiophile recognized power cord?  Are you crazy?

Do the amps include any mods/tweaks?  (I'd guess not at 1/12th the price of the first Red Dragon amp.)

That's $5.25 for the cord, an outlandish $.37 profit on each and every one

Without giving away any of your design secrets, do these use stock B & O modules? Which ones? The specs you gave are different from the more common ones.
I'm currently using a DIY dual mono, 250ASP's to drive Mangers. I've heard H2O, "ART", and had a Bel Canto S300 in my system for a few weeks. I like the "house sound".

Beautiful amp, I really love those extruded Hammond boxes and the custom colored bezels.  Very cool looking stuff.  More details about the insides, please.  Congratulations. :thumb:

Hi rnhood,

Amp-1 EMI conforms to:
EN55013
EN55020
EN61000-2
EN61000-3
FCC part 15-B

It is ready for CE approval but I have not yet sent the unit in for the necessary CE testing.

Lets me guess...... It is the latest ASC200... There is an AC200 version as well, and these you have to provide a power supply for it.  Yes, No doubt this is a very good price.

i'm a newbie around here so go easy....lol

anyways i've been on a hunt for components to power my aci essences. the specs on this amp look great, so i was wondering would these be appropriate amps to power my speakers? i'm thinking about amps for the 3 fronts and use the receiver (which ever i decide on) to power the rears.

Hello Enigma7,

Those look like truly great speakers...Wish I was nearby so I could come over for a listen.
If you want to buy a pair (or three) I offer a 30-day trial period to test them out in your setup - if they don't mate well with the speakers then send them back for a full refund (minus shipping costs).

How would you compare these to the Bel Cantos that are out there, M100 I believe?
I am interested in a possible 4 for biamping.
Would be interested in the 30 day trial as well, only live in Reno.
Thanks

Hi Zapper,

The amp-1 is identical to the Bel Canto M300 except for the XLR input option.

Zap,

What do you think would be the benefit to passively bi-amping the Sonata II's?
