Faster output clocking, after DAC stage?

OK, here is a more specific question.

What are the advantages in faster output clocking, after DAC stage?

I dont understand your question?

faster output clocking from DAC stage? There is no output clocking from DAC stage, theres clocking to the DAC chip...but after the DAC chip, the signal is analog current or analog voltage.

Thanks, yes, that's what I mean AFTER DAC stage!

What are you going to clock after the DAC stage? Nothing!

Clocking is only for the digital parts of the circuit (DSP chips, filters and DAC for example)

Its analog after the (Digital to Analog stage), just resistors, caps, opamps, relays, tubes or transformers or mosfets, connectors, etc.....  No clocking can go here.

Sounds like a trick question!

Nope, Not intended to be a trick question, just thought that the output word clock came directly after the dac is all, so would this be present when doing A/D conversion?

Hi,

The output word is a digital domain signal for syncing the transport and DAC or A/D. Then you would take the analog to the A/D converter for processing, etc.. and then bring it back out to Analog or keep it digital how it is going to be run. However, I do not feel this is an optimal way to go, too many parts, circuits, noise to do this extra conversion for a certain upsampling or such, I would let it all be done in close and tight quarters inside the player of choice myself but thats just how I look at it. Thanks and I hope this helps.

Yes it does.

Thank you
