You have to give credit where it's due.  Just when I think there can't be anything to top the little clock, they come out with this.  http://cgi.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/auc.pl?accstwek&1154748746&1154544868.  I keep looking for a smiley face icon indicating a joke but I don't see it.  A 50 cent "acrylic" for $30?

Matching "pure white" acrylic screws for only $4 ea.  Get totally screwd for only $4.  Use hand screwdriver only & no orifice lubrication for best audiophile results.  Scott Mayo from Obsession would have a field day w/ the wall plate!

And don't forget to use your cryoed MD screwdriver. I love the quoted "new retail" price quoted on the Agone ad of $120.00 for one. Make something up...

Double up the covers, put one atop the other to double the improvement, actually it is probably logarithmic improvement for 4x better sound only double the price.

Tru-Tone Duplex Covers avoid the magnetic influence of standard steel cover plates and provide resonance control for both the duplex electrical receptacle and the wall structure

I don't even know what to say.

There's nothing to say.

Sell your room treatments.

Don't bother with proper listener and speaker placement.

It's all about the outlet covers!   :slap:

I second that CTV. Pretty embarrassing to the audiophile community.

I'm completely convinced that they just want to keep seeing how far they can push the edge of getting people to buy in.  One day I expect to see them publish a big article somewhere talking about "a multi-year experiment on the impact of the power of suggestion on qualitative sensory interpretation", or something like that.

If it wasn't for the fact that I've seen posts about people buying them, I'd assume the whole site is a hoax.

I'm actually quite happy for them.  It makes me chuckle when I read about people buying this stuff, when it's this outrageous.

It's not just the audiophile community that does this.

You should take a look at one of the catalogs with car upgrades.  A friend of mine has a Vette, and there's this catalog with upgraded parts.  Each part adds horsepower and torque.  You buy this $3000 exhaust, and you gain 50hp!  Next you buy the cold air intake, and you're up 8 more horsepower.

The book is 30+ pages long with JUST performance upgrades.  If one bought them all, they'd have a Vette with 2000 horsepower, and enough torque to reverse the Earth's rotation.

They get away with it, and that's a hobby where this stuff can be MEASURED on a dyno!  I guess my point is that this happens in every industry and hobby.  People have a lot of money to spend (after the government gets what they feel is their share), and they're going to spend it.

Looks like the best audiophile scam I have ever seen.  Next thing you know they will be releasing audiophile grade paint to put onto the walls!

What a bunch of BS!

Looks like there are people trying to jump on the bandwagon now.  There is a guy on Audiogon selling a bunch of rocks to stuff into Ports on speakers and they magically make them sound better.  Man was PT Barnum right! :stupid:

Don't be hatin' now people...everybody knows you can't say anything bad about a product unless you've tried it yourself.  So go on, go and listen to your outlet covers tonight.  I dare you!  Then get the Machina Dynamica ones and compare them.  Then see if you aren't convinced.  What does it hurt to try?  The price is very inexpensive for the sheer amount of performance increase you get.  I even put them against some hand-painted folk art receptacle covers that my grandma made and there was no contest, the Machina Dynamica model blew them off the walls, so to speak.  The only ones that came close in sonics were a pair of custom covers with a backlit clown and balloon nightlight.

So - the total known information is:

1. Better than steel cover plates (no magnetic influence)
2. Provides "resonance control" for the receptacle AND the wall structure

I wonder how much of the wall structure area is benefited by this resonance control?  And I would love to know what the proprietary materials & processing techniques are, but ... they're proprietary.

This one is more clever than the Clever Little Clock though, because it doesn't even require the application of the orange dot.

These guys aren't getting rich (you think?), but every order they get in probably gives them a good chuckle.  And they say that's good for the soul.
