Correct installation of Eighth Nerve Response Corners?

I installed my Response Corners last night and they made a big improvement, but one thing from the instructions has me wondering if I installed them correctly.  It says to straddle them over the corners so that sound pressure builds up behind them; the way I installed them, they cover the walls completely, that is, there is no gap between any part of the triangle and the wall.  I am guessing that this is the proper installation method, but I just wanted to double check with other people.  Its not necesssary for me to leave a small gap between the wall and the Response Corner in order for sound pressure to build up behind it is it?

The Response Corner should be pulled tight across the corner, with the only contact points to the wall being the thumbtacks and the edges of the Corner:
