Contemplating possibly getting a pair of PMC TB2's.  What are the sonic qualities compared to say B&W 805s?

Never heard a comparison with the 805's & the TB2's, sorry. I DO know that the B&W's sound pretty good with Bryston. I've heard both 805's and 705's with a B60.

This is only a guess- but I'd bet the TB2's would please. I just posted on another thread that there was a review of the B60/Rega Planet/TB2 on the Bryston site. You might check to see if it's still there. It was complimentary to the synergy w/Bryston.

I'll bet James Tanner would give you honest advice....

I own 5 TB2's and 2 TB1's.  If you are not aware the current TB2's are TB2+'s which use a different tweeter, crossover and absorbtion material.  I have not heard the TB2+'s or the B&W 805's.  I find the TB2's image extremely well and for the most part very neutral.  Decent bass response from a bookshelf speaker.  However if you are using these speakers without a sub and you listen to music that needs solid extension below 50 Hz then I would look for one of the larger models such as the FB1 which is the floor standing version of the TB2.
