Paul,

Interesting article that basically confirms what is expected from a coaxial driver, an axis independent frequency response, lacking those typical interference suckouts. The 'chirp' response also verifies this. Sadly, I'm unable to do a visual FFT. Even with coincident sources, practical linear phase response will demand DSP, but below the highest frequencies should be able to provide linear phase over a broad listening window.
I'm a great fan of the dipole midrange and my own speakers are quite similar to yours, save for the coincidence. I've been listening to my Alon IVs going on 20yrs.

Hi, thanks for the measurements, that's interesting. A couple of comments/questions. To get a power response don't you have to integrate around the sphere?

I'm curious about the tweeter -- is it horn-loaded? So it doesn't radiate out the back? Just wondering how this affects things...
