The bugle-less ripper??
« on: 19 Jul 2006, 06:30 pm »
Hi folks,
OKay - I've been looking at a variety of usb-audio interface options - with the idea of finding a product which would allow me to rip from my audio system to my computer (laptop without a sound card). What I would prefer is to build the device myself (rca - dac - usb). The ripper looks like what I'm interested in - but I already have a Bugle phono stage - and wouldlike to be able to rip non-phono sources (eg. analog tape).

any options? I know there are lots of commercial products (edirol, adstech, griffin) but where's the fun in that?

Sapdog,

You have the option of building the RIPPER with line level input.  This will be in the instructions.  Basically, it's just a wire to jumper across the phono section.  Saves you a few bucks.

Meanwhile, I just got notice that the PCBs shipped today, the chassis scheduled to ship tomorrow (to me).
