Hi Eddie,

Is the volume knob hitting (scraping) against the faceplate?

No, when I press the volume either up or down, the display lights up, but does not switch over to show volume and does not adjust, the IR light lights up, the display lights up, but the unit doesnt seem to know what to do next.  really weird.  If I move the volume knob manually the volume does adjust via remote, and displays the dbs on the front panel.

Hi Eddie,

Do you have a laptop or computer with a Serial port output?

Actually, mine does this too.   If I do quick presses of the volume control, I don't ever get to see the volume dB level on the display,  but the volume knob DOES move, and the volume definitely goes up.  Try holding the button down for a bit.  If I do that,  it switches over and I see the dB level.  It's as though the SP2 waits for a bit before needlessly changing the display value.

I've done taps, held the button down, nada...

James S/N is X001001, was I supposed to send in the remote as well for the upgrade?

Hi Eddie,

No we did not need the remote.
Engineering has asked me to get more info -
1. the control is not rubbing?
2. the remote will work as long as you manually nudge the volume control - correct?
3. The other functions on the remote work OK?
4. If you reboot from the back power switch on the SP2 does it help?
5. It affects both UP and Down functions?

So presumably this problem with the sticky volume control only occurred after having your SP1.7 upgraded to a SP2, and that it worked flawless with the SP1.7?

Hi Eddie,

I just re-read your posts and realized you do not have a serial port. If you have a serial to USB adapter that should work OK.

Send me your email address I will send you instructions and a new software file.

I reprogrammed the unit, but the volume goes down, and I can turn it up to 42 then it stops, when I program it with my MX-850, it does not respond via RF or IR.

For me, the volume control works for normal operation but doesn't for setting volume levls through Test feature.
