A client recently requested a Sonos unit so I became a dealer.

They have and excellent solution for those who want this type of system.

I have yet to hear or use the system, but am happy to offer it to those interested in a system that doesn't require a lot of research to operate and is pretty much "plug and play".

You don't need much more than a Computer, a High Speed Connection, and a Router to reap all the benefits.

The control is especially nice and easy to use.

There are several packages from which to choose.  The above is a self contained system that even has amplification.

Look here for a rather well written article on the system(s)

I just love the idea of this thing, but my attention span for stuff like this has proven to be short lived.  Regardless, I will keep you in mind if I go this way.  I believe the way to go is with the NAS storage, which I need to explore a bit more.  It is about time for me to upgrade my PC at home anyway, and NAS would enable use of digital audio without power to the PC.  I think this is a very elegant solution....wondering when mods may be made available to it.  Shoot, I am pretty handy with a soldering iron, maybe I could find out what the D/A is, and upgrade that.....

Yes, it looks like a fun unit for the price.  I doubt it has the total sophistication of the Slim Devices, but never the less, it has some nice features and appearance.

If I hadn't picked up my new OLIVE Opus, I'd probably give it a shot.
