I just replaced the op amp for the front channels in my Sony 775 SACD player. It is a surface mount NJM2114 as standard. I ripped it out and stuck in an IC socket. I then added an AD826 in its place. It wasn't quite as nasty as I thought it would be. Took about an hour or so.
How long do I need to play it for before I can determine whether it made a significant difference or not?
