Just throwing out a note here to check our new http://www.diycable.com" target="_blank">DIYCable Web Site .  We have updated a lot of features and have new products from Cardas (both parts and capacitors), DACT & DIYHIFISupply tube kits.  

New features on the web site include.

* Interactive Consumer Reviews of all items on site (like Amazon)
* Special Area showing our sale items.  
* Site Search Functions
* Better navigation, shipping choices and other infrastructure improvements.
* Sign up for newletter and product updates information.

In other words we have added a butt-load more features and products.

We are also working hard on a new speaker/subwoofer line with several designs trickling out over the next couple months.  The first speaker design released will use the new http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=302-752&ctab=2&#ctabanc" target="_blank">Parts Express 1.0 ft^3 finished cabinets.

Parts Exress sells these for less than $200/pr so we figured if we couldn't beat them we may as well join em.  All of the speaker kits will be designed to use their finished cabinets to simplify the cabinet building side of the kit equation.  We will also offer plans for those who wish to cut their own wood.  

The first design will be an MTM monitor using a Ribbon tweeter and a proprietary pair of midrange/bass drivers using the Adire XBL motor technology.  Dan Wiggins is doing our design so the crossover should be from Dan's school of thought (high order with MCD).  Design goals include high efficiency so we can use them with our tube or solid state amps, video shielding for multichannel use and since we have a finished cabinet to work with assembly should be a snap, no special skills or tools to build

Other products on the drawing board:

#1. Complete kit for the DACT CT101 line stages, & CT100 RIAA phono modules.

#2.  Complete Amplifier Kit based on the new LC Audio ZAPPulse 2.0 modules.  Both integrated two channel and options for multichannel.

#3.   Tumult based powered sub (actually this is ready to release... just waiting a few parts) and a smaller 12"-13" cube sub using another propriatary 10" XBL enabled driver + two passive radiators & amp that will follow this fall.

#4.  DACT Stepped Attenuator Remote Volume Control!  WHooo... finally an easy way to add a remote to a great quality volume control.  Thanks to John Chapman at www.bentaudio.com  for this one.

Love the work you did on your site.  Especially the integrated database with reviews on products.  Very slick.  Who did the development?

Thanks....  the database is really nice.  It drives all the content.  We no longer have HTML pages except as they exist within the database fields.  This allows me to make immediate changes to content and across the entire site.  Allows me to easily add/subtract items and change the entire navigation in just a few minutes.  

The reviews will be nice once we get some actual user comments.  Right now everything is blank because it is a new feature.  I also will hopefully give us some insight on how to change modify the products based upon user feedback.

http://www.newhoff.com/" target="_blank">Newhoff Design and Consulting has done the database work.  David Newhoff is the man behind the database functions and I couldn't be happier with his work.   They are real professionals in that they deliver a complete package/consulting service.  I have a degree in Computer Science and have some experience working with databases so that has helped understand the process.  David has done all the hard work though.  Very few companies use the technology right in my opinion.  Some seem to use technology just for the sake of using it, not with any real business reason in mind.  I've tried to look at examples of companies that have good systems and copy their efforts.  David has been very useful in that he has good insight into what makes a good system and what features are easy/hard to implement.   He also has good business sense as to what things are important when doing business on the web.  That is as important as having the technical knowledge.  Knowing how to use it...
