There are a number of these in use in fine systems worldwide, and the responses are very positive.

Rather than be redundant, I refer you to the condensed synopsis as it appears in the following Audiogon ad:

Please refer to our web site for a full thesis, or PM me with your specific questions.

Thank goodness I have captive leads from my current tonearm....or I'd have to  buy yet another RAL product

It looks very pretty in that extroverted lavender color of yours, Brad.

TheChairGuy

Silly me, I done did buy another cable from RAL.

I adore my Grado SR-60's for the road and home, I haven't heard the whole line but I liked them better than the SR-80's overall.  The cord was a bit short for home use, so I was looking at a $39.95 extension out there......so I gave Brad the job of completely re-wiring with his cryo-silver wire instead.  I'll have it here in a couple days, but it is (in typical Brad Vojtech fashion) meticulous workmanship.

In typical fashion, the real difference in top to bottom of their headphone line is not night and day....the difference in the $69 SR-60 and and $300 SR-325 amounts to mostly different  more oxygen free copper in coils and wire and a better damped cup.  Constrained layer damping (as I've done, tastefully, on the earcups) and silver cryo wire might well make this better than the SR-325 (it's certainly better suited to mobile use with higher efficiency).  One day, I might just find out.

Brad has more information on it and if he's going to offer something as standard on Grado's (or Sennheiser's)....ask him, not me.  The last I spoke to him, tho, he hadn't devised a pricing schedule for them  :)

Ain't it purdy, tho??

ChairGuy's modded headphones should arrive to him on Saturday.  He needed a 15 ft. cable, which is the maximum length we recommend fabricating for you.

Looking forward to hearing his impressions, but to our ears, the cable literally transformed his Grado headphones.  His set-up requires the 1/8" jack, in which case we use a 24k gold plated all-metal, non-soldered jack (there are no solder connections in the entire signal path of our headphone cable - a crucial performance enhancement in this realm of low-level signals).  The terminations are treated with Walker Audio Extreme SST Super Silver Treatment during assembly.

For a 1/4" jack requirement, we use the Furutech FP-704(G) / Stereo

Sennheiser version available.

We will perform the mod for you by installing the cable in your fixed-cable headphones.

For you electrostatic headphone fans, we are hard at work on a Stax EarSpeaker cable mod.

As with all our cables, absolutely no compromises!!!

All conductors 5N ultra-pure deep cryogenic treated solid silver, air dielectric, Teflon insulators, Mil. Spec. braided shielding, all cables are fully conditioned on our audiodharma Cable Cooker 2.5 Pro prior to shipment, etc.

Again, please refer to our web site for a full thesis of our design features, or e-mail me for specific questions.

Pricing schedule will be posted here soon.

TheChairGuy

Talk about routine Revelation Labs overkill

All I asked is to better the stock SR-60's and make it 15' with a 1/8" plug standard - you really are a craftsman, my man  :thumb:

Look forward to hearing them this weekend! (both thru mobile sources and my modded headphone outputs of my Sony DVP-S7700 transport)

TheChairGuy

I know I'm messing with the original intent of the ad (for a phono cable), but all interconnects are broadly related.....as are headphone cables.

I got them in today and tho 15' long, they weigh no more than the 7' Grado wire and are quite flexible (great for travelling purposes).  The gold ends on the 1/8" and 1/4" are quite luxurious looking. I'll cook them for another 100 hours (as I found your IC's benefitted from a bit more than 100 hours on them when I first got them).

They are right now far cleaner sounding than the originals...I would know as I've owned them for about 5 years now.

Good job, Bradley  :thumb:

We appreciate all the accolades expressed by our customers.

Back on topic re: the phono tone arm cable, here is a note we just received from Ian in the U.K. (quote):

Finally found the time to get my dealer to come over and set up the Phantom arm two weeks ago.  When he had finished, he said he was not happy with this particular sample and asked Graham for another one. This took an extra week to arrive from the States. Anyway, we finally kicked off last Friday and everything sounded good but we had a system hum. So yesterday morning I opened up my ancient Sonic Frontiers step up amp and pre-amp, meticulously took out every valve and cleaned their plugs, etc., as well as all the RCA's on the back plate. That did the trick.

Basically, the system has no particular sound, it just plays music, which is what it should do. All I can say is that considering the front end sets the pace of the whole system, the arm, cartridge, turntable and your cable simply have no sonic signature I can detect. As a combo, they are totally neutral, not bright, not dull, just totally transparent and not there.

Thanks for a great cable! God Bless, Ian, U.K.

PS: system is as follows: Simon Yorke S7 turntable, Graham Phantom tone arm, Virus MC cartridge (limited production from Switzerland), Sonic Frontiers SFL-2 Signature series pre-amp, Sonic Frontiers SFP-1 Signature series phono stage, Gamut D200 Mk 3 power amp, Magnepan 2.7 speakers
