Is total audio solutions in the UK an approved Bryston dealer?

When I got my amp I saw the note that came in the box (this was the first I had ever heard of it) and on checking my serial number saw that my amp would indeed be affected by the change.

I immediately phoned total audio solutions and asked them, they assured me that not only were they an approved dealer but in fact then were the largest importer of Bryston amps in the UK. They went on to say that they had never had any problems with Bryston warranties. So I figured that it must be fine. Now that I have found this forum and done some back reading (http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=26059) I'm worried again. I paid £2,300 for my 4B-SST (without handles) after I managed to talk them down a bit. This seems to be below the more expensive places that charge up to £2,700. Does this mean that I may have purchased from an un-authorised dealer? Or is price un-related to this? I'm not sure what I do now as having the warrantee was one of my major reasons for choosing the amp.

I am also considering buying a second amp but I don’t know who if anyone ion the UK will be a genuine dealer. Total Audio Solutions say they are and if so I would like to buy from them again but I have no way of checking.

BTW £2,300 = $4.250 US = $4,700 Canadian

I believe that Total Audio Solutions (TAS) is an authorised dealer. I bought my original system from them (BP25DA, 4BSST, OB1s) since they were happy to come down in price. From what I understand they supply much of the broadcast industry with pro gear but they seem equally happy to sell to the ordinary consumer if you call them. My pre-amp went in to PMC recently under warranty with no problems at all (see my separate posting on this). I also just ordered my MPS-2 upgrade through TAS and in fact collected it from PMC in Luton myself since PMC's offices are closer to me than TAS. (Review on MPS-2 to follow.)

This makes me feel a little better as what you have heard about T.A.S. is inline with what they told me, so if that is true then hopefully their claim to be authorised is also true. It would still be good to get an official word on this.

Hi All,

You would have to check with PMC as to the authorized dealers in England.

Checked with P.M.C. UK and T.A.S. are authorised. Phew!
