So I have read a few posts here about using exotic hardwoods for anything from looking really nice to improving sound due to (I guess) their density. If anyone is looking for a good source there is a store here in MA which does mail order. The place is a woodworkers wet dream plus they are super friendly and helpful. You can get all types of ebony for between $40-50 a boardfoot. So for about $75 you can get a nice 24"X 12" 3/4" of gabon ebony. I have no link to this place except that I think it is an amazing store.
