If anyone is interested I may be organizing a group purchase of some ribbon tweeters. I recently received a pair of ribbons for evaluation and they are very good and much lower in cost than comparable ribbons.
The design is a "pure" ribbon (like the Raven) and has a round plastic faceplate. It's very well shielded and the construction is solid. I will test them and screen them into matched pairs.
