Hi All, especially Vinnie
It seem to me that the teac is a thing of the past - with new clari-T coming up - but I'd like to post my question anyway.
I've got 2 of those TEACs t home now, and did the easy mods (removing the center board, removing the volume board.
I love the level of detail i get but I know there must be more (more precise bass and highs to be exact / I had the sonic impact running on an SLA before

).
[but it beat a sumo amp, a NAD, and a cheap tube amp all the same!]
I'd love to listen to the modded version but shipping the amp to and fro europe will simply be too expensive to do
s there anything else I can do
- which one is the electrolytic to replace? the one on the amp board itself
- the main culprit will be the power supply. i was thinking of either getting a conventional external one - but it seems hard to find with these voltages...
- is there an external version of the battery supply (excluding the batteries) that can be sent by mail without breaking the bank?
-how much would the cap mod alone change? (did I hear oil caps)
one remark, I tried to run both amps in mono configuration (with the idea of putting less strain on the psu) but the sound did not really improve...
anyone tried this before?
so many questions....
thanks for your time and ideas
