I played various performances of the finale to Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition a whole lotta times when I was finishing up the HT3. Any kind of funny business in the crossover region will rob brass of the clarity, bite, and transparency that makes them so exciting in a live performance.

Solo brass was also demo'd to demonstrate "the wood" effect i.e., absolute poarity.
