Hi Moz,

OK I looked into your SP1 issue.

Here are the facts as best I can tell.

1. The was a serious misunderstanding as to when we could actually provide updates to the SP1 and SP1.7 to SP2 status so a few customers actually submitted their units long before we were ready to go. - 2 months or so

2. When we finally announced we were ready to go - 2 days later the parts we needed for the DSP board were held up. - about a month.

3. We just recieved your SP1 SN 404 this Friday.

4. We have started the upgrade for you - one problem - the AES input - we do not have software available for that input yet - can we replace it with 2- Optical inputs instead?

james

Hi James!

The SP-1 PRO S/N 404 ist mine!!! Do not send it to France...  :nono:

However, interesting to hear that 5 MONTH!!! after I dropped it off at the German distributor it finally arrived at your facilities!

How many month more would I have to wait if I want to keep the AES/EBU? Or could you replace the AES/EBU on my unit temporarily and Sun Audio could replace the Toslink module with the original AES/EBU module once the software for AES/EBU is up an running?

Thanks

Markus

Hi Markus,

Yes we got it all sorted out - no worry we know 404 is yours.
The software for the SP2 AES-EBU is being worked on. I will see how long engineering thinks it will take.

Hi James,

I'm waiting a call from my retailer here in France to tell me what SN is my unit because i'm not sure it's the one you think...
Anyway, is it possible to leave the AES/EBU untouched and non-operational till you find a way to make it work BUT do the upgrade ?

Yes we can just leave the AES-EBU connector in place and email new software when the AES is finished.

I certainly will  (and i'll be able to tell you how it performs toward le MC12 and the AVP2 as well) :D
I just hope it'll get faster, not as much as the MC12, but close would be great !!!
I should get it back before sunday (i left it to my retailer so that he can hear it and try it at his home and see/hear what's new, because he's surely going to sell some more soon !)...

Honoured to be one of the first in our old Europe ! :green:

Hi James!

Anything new on my upgrade?

Like MOZ I would prefer to keep the AES/EBU input and wait for the software upgrade to use it again.

Please make sure you perform the front panel color change from silver to black...

After making me wait for 5 month+ on my upgrade (= having NO hometheater since mid March! :x) - what about a free upgrade of the display...

Thanks

Markus

James,

I have a question for you (if you may give the info) : how many SP1/SP1.7/SP2 have you sold around the world ?

James,

There is someone in France who would like to do the SP2 upgrade but he wonders what time will it take ?
When do you think the rush will be off ?
When should he consider to send it to you ?

Hi MOZ,

We are going to be caught up in about 2 weeks so they should contact CAM at Bryston anytime now.

Hi James!

I have been using my upgraded SP-2 PRO now for a few weeks and I really enjoy having it back after the long wait.

Are there any news regarding the adaptation of the software to accomodate the AES/EBU input - after estimated three month of working on it...?

Thanks

Markus

Hi Markus,

The software you have can be used with AES. It will just say Optical 1 instead of AES-EBU.

So just assign Optical 1 to the AES EBU input.
