Anyone have trouble playing this ? I've tried both the cd & dvd sides and neither played ( tried 2 different players ) . The disc seems much thicker than a plain cd or dvd .

If it is a DualDisc then yes a lot of players will have trouble.... I however think it is weird the DVD side will not play.....

On another note, oh shit! I want that CD really bad but have NO money.

Plays on my Shanling CD T-100 and it is pretty particular about what it will play.

Not to be a smart ass, but are you trying to play the DVD side on your CD Player

By the way IMO this is a great CD.  The use of a full band, horns, piano, accordion, banjo, etc. make the songs come alive for me.  I don't particularly like Pete Seeger recordings, but I sure do like this release.

No problem on my Marantz CD-63se (which does have problems with the Born To Run disc), and surprisingly it plays fine in my car (err, van) - single CD player in van, not a changer.

I'm only half-way through a second listen, but my initial reaction is that I'm very pleasantly surprised. When I heard about it, I was expecting a Tom Joad style album - dark, brooding, moody. Now, I love Tom Joad, but you can only take so much. This was a complete surprise to me- energy, humor, fun but without losing touch (near as I can tell).  We'll have to see what kind of staying power it has, but so far so good.

It played fine in my car but I much rather hear it in my home system of course . That said , it's a great disc ... full of spirit and energy . I'm not a huge fan of Seeger or Springsteen's music but this one really fills the bill .

Should I return this copy and take my chances on getting a copy that plays on my home player or just give up and play it in my car ? The store is about 25 minutes away ( gas ! ) . My other choice would be to burn a copy and see if it plays .
Why do they sell these things if they know they won't play in all players ?

I wonder if it's some kind of copy protection that's causing the problem.

Anyone catch the Seeger Sessions show that is currently in pretty heavy rotation on CMT?  I've only seen a part of it, but it was pretty enjoyable.

That's one huge band Springsteen assembled for this album-there must be 15-20 people.
