find a player with 2500 budget????

I went with the CEC TL-51X transport into the DAC60 with sonicraft mods and then threw in some high $$ Amperex pinch waisted D-getter gold pins, all for your exact budget. Very good sounding digital, IMO.

Wow, with a budget like that go hit the stores, never mind the forum and buy whatever sounds the best with your current amp/speakers. In that price range there are plenty on new players that will sound terrific, it's going to be a matter of taste and fit with your current gear.

Modified Squeeze Box + PC will beat almost ANYTHING new or used at your proposed price point.

As a benefit, you also get a much improved user experience (as long as you are ok with using a pc).

i don't mind runnin' a preamp.soooo for 2250 you can get--CX-7,Opus-21 or Cary 303-300.for a few dollars more you get Wadia 861.all used of course.is it only the Wadia that no pre is necessary????of all above units,is there a winner or will they all be close????thks
