Hi all, I am an sp1.7 new happy owner!

I already have two questions please

First, I would like to put off lcd display. The OSD function is not clear to me. It does not do that.
Is there any hidden code allowing to disable the lcd panel light?

I previously owned a Proceed AVP preamp. This preamp allowed to manage an level of sensitivity for analog inputs. I don't manage to find this function on sp1.7 and the result is a very important difference of volume between the Bypass sources and the digital ones and masterised (DLPII...). Do you have any idea please?

Thx in advance for your help
fabien

Hi Fabien,

There is no code to reduce the level of the LCD display on the SP1.7. The new SP2 has a feature where the LCD goes to 1/2 brightness.

The reason the Digital Volume is different from the Bypass is that the Bypass uses a stereo analog volume control and not the DAC's.

James, I was lent (before the final acquisition) another sp1.7. This one automatically swtiched off the lcd display after a time without activity (5 second?). This one provides also a quite similar level of input between Bypass & other inputs ?

Am I clear ?
Cheers

Hi fabien,

The latest versions of the SP1.7 - new lcd displays allowed you to adjust intensity. Code - 240 then use the volume control to adjust brightness.

You may have an earlier version of the SP1.7 than the previous unit you had.

James, thx for your very very fast answers.
The characteristics are:
SW/FW : 44A
Date : 0406
S/N : 000750
You do confirm that nothing is possible?

James, I know you noted that a new display won't be included in the SP 1.7 upgrade.  Is that something that would be very difficult or non-cost effective to do for an additional cost.  Thanks

I will check for you. Try the code and see if anything happens on the display.

James, I tried the code, & when I use the "mute key", the préamp mutes & the vol keys continue to manage the volume. It does not seem to work.
Thx in advance for your input

I have an older version of SP1.7.

Fellow SP1.7 suggested this product.  I have not tried it but some claimed it works really well.

Are you hitting the 'CODE' button first until the red LED lights.

Hi Fabien,

I checked with engineering and their answer below.

It has the old display and PSB software 603 so  no intensity control available

Yes James, I hit the Code key then (the remote led is lighting), then the 2 other keys (DTS/SRD), and MUTE. This key mutes the system...I interpret that the 2 first keys a re not understoof by my system?
