Coax cable type for Bryston XLR cables?
« on: 24 Apr 2006, 12:41 am »
Hi, folks,

I was wondering if anyone knew the brand and model of the coaxial cable used in the Bryston XLR cables.  Also, are they made using Neutrik connectors, or something else?

Curious, mainly.

:D Hi Jason,
Looking the older topics I found you  were looking for any information about XLR interconnector.
As I found in their brochure it`s Van Damme
http://www.van-damme.com/products/classic_quad_microphone_series.htm  with Neutrik http://www.neutrik.com/fl/en/audio/210_t2_1888713356/NC3FXX-EMC-B_detail.aspx http://www.neutrik.com/fl/en/audio/210_1111665835/NC3MXX-EMC_detail.aspx
and for RCA-RCA, Digital and Video cables are Canare LV-61S http://www.canare.com/index.cfm?objectid=0D01B44F-3048-7098-AF1C088D26068A8A with Neutrik Profi
http://www.neutrik.com/fl/en/audio/210_19991/NF2C-B_2_detail.aspx[/font]

You can buy bulk cables Canare and connectors Neutrik from www.Markertek.com
about Van Damme cables I`m not sure where you could buy.
I hope it will be useful information anyway.
Best Regard Daniel

Hi All,

Yes the above cables are the ones we are currently using.

We never intended to be in the cable business.  We would design and build turn-key systems for recording studios with PMC and these are the cables that came out of that research. Our customers started asking what we recommended so we started offering the cables as a courtesy to our customers.

The RCA connectors we use are a custom unit through that 'makes and breaks' ground as you connect and disconnect to avoid pops and clicks from occurring when you plug and unplug.

They cables may change from time to time as we continue to research different types.

Hi Mr.Tanner
as I pointed above I using a DIY interconnect made from the cables listed
in the previous post. For my current system the change is enormous.
The fact is notice by  everyone in my family.Maybe someone will
smile at this because he may heard it a lot of times before. That`s why
I decided to try with different system.A friend of mine has got
Rotel CD 971,Rotel Amp 840BX4,Jamo Concert 8 so the system is quite
different to accept the result. It show the same improvement to his
system that now he regret his decision not to have DIY interconnects, not
only for his home system but for his car audio system which more expensive.
He got Dynaudio 3 way 362 with the new Esotec tweeter 2 woofers MW182
three amplifiers Precision Power,3 Caps each 1,000,000mF,2 batteries
Dynamat all over panels the cost of this exceed 15,000$.
Could Mr.Tanner to explain the reason for such a big difference.
I`ve tried many brands interconnects and always meet the same problem
the system is good at low levels but with to increase of power there are
problems which I could defind as IM or distortions.
