I want to thank everybody for there input.Read good things about the speakers everybody has mentioned.I will audition as many as i can,no rush.untill i find what i want. But i want something that sounds good at low volume as well,I have not heard any of the good small monitors yet,von schweikert vr1 is one example,or omega ts1r.Like i said before i have had the jbl 4312s and they sound real good, but ageing.the dynamics are great on this speaker, though colored.Has anybody listen many of the better small monitors. The vr1 and the omega, what i have read are great speakers. But as you all know placement is critical with any speaker, some more then others. By for now, thanks dennis.

The nOrh SM6.9 is a dynamic monitor (definitly not small though).

The VMPS 626R is also a very dynamic monitor (not really small though either)

I'd love to get my hands on 626R's, but they never seem to come up on the used market. These and Ellis Audio 1801's are two speakers I'd love to hear.
