For the past several months, I've been waiting for parts (transformers, etc.) to build a nice dual-mono version of Peter Daniel's LM3875 premium gainclone kit.  I finally completed it to the point of being functional yesterday and have a few small additional things to do, but it's 99% done.  Here's the only (not so good) picture I've made so far:

I used a Lansing case to compliment the Hagerman projects I've built in the past and 1/2 x 3 inch aluminum for heat sinks and shielding.  The caps are all blackgates and the resistors are Riken or Caddock.  The transformers are Plitron (400VA, 2x22V AC).

I've listened to it with the coaxial TLs from the Horn Shoppe and it sounds very quick, authoritative and detailed; the bass is great.  I had it paired with the Clarinet preamp.  Surprisingly, the highs weren't bad from the start as they weren't unnaturally strident.

It's initial performance is very promising. Pretty amazing sound from so few parts...:D

Nice job Henry.  I have the Audiosector integrated amp.  It's a real peach for the price.

I just got my Plitron transformer for mine... When ever Percy freaking gets e-mails sorted I will have the last two capacitors I need to actually start building mine.

I've had quite a bit of trouble getting replies from percy lately too. So, i've been using handmade electronics . The prices and selection aren't quite as good, but they ship within 24 hours rather than a week or two to even get a reply from percy.

This may be a little late but:
If you guys are looking for the premium caps, Peter Daniel did offer them for sale.  Also, he has been really good about answering my questions.

I'd recommend using input caps on your amp as well (just in case a little DC comes along...).  I'll be interested in how you guys enjoy your amps, I'm happy with this one so far.

WoW that's a nice looking amplifier. I like the AS gear a lot. I've had this stuff in the system longer than any other equipment..looks like it will be here for a while.

Good listening!
