New Bel Canto Dac 3 question- USB input?

I own a Bel Canto DAC2 right now and I really like it so I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the DAC 3.  I saw on 6moons in the news section that the new DAC 3 has a variety of inputs, including a USB input.  I'm wondering if anybody knows how this would function; that is, where would the USB signal come from?  Personally, I'm hoping that this means that I can use it as an extremely high-quality soundcard for my laptop (right now I use a Waveterminal U24 feeding a digital signal to my DAC 2), but something tells me this isn't likely.  Does anybody know how this USB input is intended to be used?

When I thought about this some more, I realized that this must be a USB input like the Wavelength Brick, which is great for me.  This will allow me to eliminate any jitter through SPDIF conversion and play my FLAC files directly to the DAC3 and then to my amp.  I hope that all the supposed benefits of less-jitter in I2S and USB signal transfers actually translate into audible differences.
