bluemike these amps are very fast sounding. I do not know what the slew rate is. This is not a common measurement for tube amps. They are fast and they have a lot of headroom. Good luck finding a used pair. They don't go up for sale often at all!

I can positively, absolutely tell you, from first hand experience (I borrowed a friend's pair) that the Dodd amps are "fast", and true to the music, unlike "traditional" tube amps.  Their dynamic, transient response is as good (and sometimes better) than any SS amp I've owned, and they drive my Andra IIs (88.5 db) effortlessly to ear shattering high levels (>100db in a 20' x 25' room).  And here I always thought that my Andras required 200+ wpc of high current juice to drive them properly.  The Dodds proved me wrong.  Slow and euphonic is not in their vocabulary.

Yes, I will get a pair.

I feed mine through an Audio Magic Stealth XXX, but am moving to the Dodd BPS in the near future.  No issues of any kind through a conditioner for me...

I plug my 120s into an original Shunyata Hydra.
I cannot hear any issues or problems.

Thank-you for your comments

I'm interested in knowing how many dodd users are using the stock power cord
If not ,what aftermarket cord works well with these amps

I currently have a tg audio cord on my amp debating whether to get a second one or go in a completely different direction

I have his 50 watt mono-blocks.

I am using some custom power cords and running them through the Dodd Audio balanced power supply.

I couldn't be happier with them.

I just got to listen to a Sound Application line conditioner that earlmarc brought to my place last weekend.  I believe the model was the XE-12.  It is a non-current limiting device that worked very well in my system.  It is now on my list of system upgrades.  The biggest improvement was gained when plugging the preamp into it vs. the power amps.

I have found excellent synergy using DCCA Audio's PowerWave2 power cables on the Dodds.  I highly recommend these great cables that easily play with the big boys at fractions of their costs.  They are built very well, and sound great, and are relatively inexpensive compared to the other players.

Get in touch with Don at DCCA, http://www.dccaaudio.com/catalog.0.html, or email him at virgo3ref@aol.com.  He's wonderful to work with, and very accomodating.
