Hi guys,

went through the threads and did the search thing and noticed that there is no thread where people show off pictures of their bryston gear.

i for one would love to see your setup, especially given that we are planning on buying some gear soon.

please please please post some picture of your equipment as im currently going through the whole black vs silver debate atm :)

cheers,

julie

very nice andy :)

do you use the handles much or do you just prefer to the look of the amp with handles?

cheers,

julie

......thx, i just prefer that heavy-duty look i  guess.....they are definitely useful whenever you move it, but for me that won't happen very often.....there are also a set of more simplistic grab handles at the back to help position amp...about 80lbs iirc. For me i wanted to get away from more black boxes because the system is right out in full view in open racks and knew straight away that silver was the choice.....it has a really nice finish....that said black is also cool.  8)

No heat problems at all. I made a really neat system that exhausts from the top of the cabinet and pulls air from outside the cabinet in on the bottom using 12VDC fans that I run at about 9 volts. Quiet but moves plenty of air, even when listening with more enthusiasm....if you follow.

My friend complained his ran a bit hot.  I've always had mine with isolation stuff below it (now Final Labs ball bearing isolators) so there is greater space below the unit.  He put stuff under his and now it does not run as hot.  I have a about 2 inches of room above mine and don't have a problem.  Try even something below the feet like little blocks of wood.

Yes.  Thank you Phil A.  I increased the space above the processor and it made a big difference in the amount of heat that it puts out.  Hey I am the original owner and still have 15+years of warranty left.

dear KClam,

highly impressive!! Since you have 3 the same amps, you never consider to go active with a active Bryston/PMC x-over? My experienced is that you will get a better low end, because once your remove the big coil in the lowpass filter the dampingfactor of your amps will increase highly ;)

Best regards,
Bas

Active system

Thanks Sebastiaan.
Yes, I have this in mind but after getting the plasma and related HT equipment, the process to make this an active system is scheduled for next year.
I am already very happy with this setup but I have heard a lot of positive things about active systems.
Best regards.

Dear KClam,

I can imaging you are very happy.. :D I hear your PMC's in a record studio where I work a lot, and it is indeed verry impressive.. :D They Drive them with the old Bryston 4BST's. The ones with the insane big white BRYSTON logo on the front :D

Enjoy listening.. :D

Bas

Gonna be getting the AML Grilles Sprayed to a high gloss black to match the screen.  Any UK price yet on the SP1.7-SP2 Upgrade?
