Where to buy Squeezebox in the Toronto region?
« on: 30 Mar 2006, 05:18 am »
Hello, all.

First time poster, very short time viewer.

I have archived a couple hundred of my most valuable CD's onto HD's for safekeeping and have recently realized that these could be serving a very convenient function - namely supplying my house with streaming music - other than simply collecting dust in storage.

So I'm looking into buying a Squeezebox or two or three. But I'd rather not buy online and was hoping to support a local business in the Toronto region (I live in Whitby but work in Toronto).

I am wondering if anyone in here has purchased their Squeezebox from a retailor in the GTA and if so, do you have any suggestions on who/where I might go to pay a visit.

Thanks and I look forward to contributing to this great forum.

Hi there, a buddy of mine bought one from a dealer in Canada (thank goodness, he missesd out on the whole getting shafted at the border fees)

I'm not affiliated, nor do i have any business ties to him, so here it is.

I have spoken live with Mark in Ottawa, and nearly bought from him - in the end I picked up a used unit here...

I would recommend Travel Net for sure - the owner is an audiophile, well into FLAC etc!

Pneumonic - I live out in the West end, and you can arrange to drop by, if you want to see/touch/play with an SB3 that has been highly modded...

Thanks for the friendly welcomes.

Though they aren't local, Travel-net sounds like the place to do my purchasing. The fact that the owner is an audiophile is all the better.

What an awesome offering.

Once things settle down where I am (new job with associated move) I will very likely take you up on your generous offer.

Thank-you very much.
