Hi, I'm your new [age 52] kid on the block, an ex-patriot living in Germany.

I've already a system I am most happy with but will soon take delivery of my yet-to-be-auditioned Zu Druids. My Gryphon Tabu Century (2x100wpc) is not 'up for sale.' And I'm keeping my QLNs too. However, I am curious just how well Nelson and Dan mix together and some user comments (individual assessments or -wonder of wonders- combined) about these units I'd really appreciate.

Are there any new posts I missed about Druids customer satisfaction? Anybody heard my amp before, or the F3 + SWL9.0 in combo with the Druids? 'Love to hear from you!

Thank you very much!

John :D

I had the Druids and Modwright, with a RWA Clari-T.  It was a magical combination but as always, onward and upward.  I'm onto the Def's now.

Reading Srajan's musings on the F3, I would say your chances are about 99.9% that your smile would touch your ears.

Good choices, and welcome!

Thanks! I understand that the Defs need +5m room depth at least and in 'smaller' rooms the Druids do their magic best. Any comments?

I've read your [at times most patient] replys elsewhere. And Seattle is a great town, very live-musical - 'got an aunt in Portland.

What happened to your ModWright?

I'd say 4 meters depth would be a minimum for the Def's to truly shine.  The Druids can work with less, no doubt.

When I decided to upgrade my Def's to Pro's, I needed to EQ.  The TacT played alright with the Modwright, but the combination seemed to give up some transparency so I decided to use the TacT as preamp.  That caused a tonal shift toward the neutral/clinical that I'll try to cure with a good SET amp.

With all the shifting, I couldn't afford to keep the Modwright either.  It's playing a happy little song in California now.

Thanks for the kind words.  Seattle's a great town and I'll be here for a long time.  And, we're all in this hobby together - respect and civility keep it all enjoyable.
