In time,  in time.
Yes,  R/C, 2nd outs and AVBP  are all planned and will be available soon.
Comparison with the Tempest ?  They are similar.  Like I said,  it has to float my boat,  and I have a very definite and absolute idea as to how my components have to sound.  Heart chakra.  I learned that from Rolf  nearly 20 years ago,  and have tried to implement this philosophy since then.

That and the freakking price / performance blow out.  Again,  we're not talking about $ 50 parts in a $ 20. box here for a lot of money.  There is metal, CNC machining, parts quality, and QC  up the yazoooo,

Late,

Klaus

BTW,  you guys are really crazy.  16 orders and counting.

OK guys,  I'll be leaving Tuesday for Montreal (Road trip.  Oh yeahhhhhhhhhh,  rocking out,  hehehe).

We're having 2 rooms on the 9th floor of the Delta,  925/927  I think ???

Anyway,  room 1 will have the pictures with a smaller system,  and room 2 will have the Loreleis with Stratos Monos and a VPI SSM  table with a vdHul Colibri front end.

Now,  guess I can already let the rat out of the sock:

we're having a world-premiere of the first of a completely new product line this weekend:

A kic ...
Hey Klaus....Have a safe trip, and a great show in Montreal. Sounds like a great new preamp there....nice, good luck with it!! 8)

I'm interested.  Here are my questions:

1)  Is there an optional remote control?
2)  Is two sets of outputs an option?
3)  Is there an optional HT bypass.  If so does the unit need to be on for the bypass to work?
4)  Will there be a trade in or modification program for current Tempest owners?
5)  How does it sound with mono extremes?  If the output impedance of the tube pre is 10k Ohm and the input impedance of the extreme monos is 10k Ohm (I think), does that mean they are not a good match?
6)  Is it a step up or step down from the Tempest?

Very good questions.  Especially 1 & 3, does the unit have to be on for PB to work?

OK, I'm not reading anything about a phono section in the new tube preamplifier, whereas one of the Tempest's many strengths is its phono (MM/MC) section. And I feel it's pretty well known that Klaus likes his vinyl. Soooooo, I wonder if there is a Odyssey/Klausian phono preamplifier afoot?

Possibly the new preamp will have bloodlines from the Symphonic Line one at a much reduced cost. http://www.symphonic-line.com/tube_preamp.htm

Klaus:
Is that spec correct for the output impedance of your new pre-amp: 10K???
why so high? :(

Boogaloo,

Where are you located in WNC?

BTW, I have the SL tube pre-amp.  I would be interested to compare the two at some point.

I have been in a preamp crisis for some time now, so this may be what I've been looking for.  Having dumped my SS for direct into amp CD playback, and now using an ancient tube Croft preamp that sounds very nice, six or seven tubes and no remote. of course.  Haven't been inclined to try the Tempest for some reason, but the tube verson looks as if it will be great.  Once upon a time I had a Classe amp which would not work with the Croft which is why I quit using it.  (I had been wondering why I had put it away and now rememeber the reason. The Classe would shut down when I tried to use the Croft with it.) It apparently is a good match for my Extreme Monos, but when the dust settles, I'll definitely try Kaus's.

Thanks for the link. The Symphonic piece offers a phone section with MM standard, and an optional upgrade to MC w/mumetal transformer. One of Klaus' posts in this thread reports, "Inputs Four (4)", but he didn't list the inputs....

Can't wait to hear more.

Hasn't the Tempest been touted as having a warm, organic sound that approaches that of tubes? Over time, I guess the market has spoken?
