Jolida JD700 tube DVD player - anyone heard it yet?

Hi Mike,
I was waiting to see if anyone posted with their opinion. To start things off, I will give you some general comparisons between the 700 and 100 player.

Audio:
In comparison, the JD700 is very smooth and enjoyable to listen to. Not quite the same resolution and transparency as the JD100 but close. If you are looking for a player that will be in a more dedicated 2 channel system, I would consider a high quality CD player and then a decent DVD player for HT.

If you are looking for a very good double duty unit, the JD700 is very satisfying. It does have a dedicated tube output stage for 2 channel listening which can also be used in the HT setup. You have the option of keeping them seperate and using the 5.1 channel output for HT and tube stage for 2 channel or using the tube stage for both.

The solid state 5.1 channel output is as good as most other $400-$600 DVD players and the video is much better than my $400 DVD player which is the only unit I have to compare to.

The JD700 has a seperate output stage using unbalanced RCA outputs.

No, it's just the opposite. It uses RCA outputs for the tube stage.

I was confusing it with the Vincent wich has 5.1 RCA and stereo balanced...

Okay, the balanced two channel outputs for dvd R and L do not use the tubed output stage. The RCA two channel outputs for dvd R and L do use the tubed output stage.

And... has anyone heard this unit in action yet?

I am looking for the highest quality 2 channel dvd player I can find.

The Jolida JD700 has been out about a year now.
How do you like the Vincent piece. I really like the looks of their gear and have heard some of their other pieces

Strange, I tried to buy it from China, and the answer was that it only comes out in August...

The Vincent hasnt arrived yet, I will post my opinion when I get it...

I got the Vincent SDV-3 a couple of weeks ago, it is hard to judge it, as I replaced my Tripath amplifier by a tube Cayin A-88T, and most of the differences are from the new amplifier, both are new, so they will probably improve with some more play...

I did notice more body, fuller sound when I first connected the Vincent player, since I replaced the amplifier, sound is livelier, has less detail and worst stage defenition, also timbre is a bit on the bright side, it was beautiful with the TEAC...

As you can see, had I known what I know now, I wouldnt buy the Cayin, and wouldnt need the Vincent, as the TEAC is a DVD receiver...
