who is Henry Ho?
« on: 14 Mar 2006, 06:26 pm »
Last night, I was browsing on Audiogon and came across the name Henry Ho. He builds amps (and maybe preamps). The amps are ICE based and the company website is http://www.iceh2oaudio.com/. Just wondering if anyone knew of his products and if his designs were a bit more refined and musical than some of the other ICE amps? I have yet to hear an ICE or UCD amp.

Do a search here and on Audiogon for lots of info.  Henry is indeed the builder of the H2O amps.

I have heard the H2O amp a couple times in my system and at a show.  I personally didn't think it is was better than Jeff Rowland 201's, but others out there liked it a lot.

I read that strange review. His metaphor calling for a comparison of the H2O to a digital camera as a negative had me laughing. I own an advanced digital. It is capable of far more detail, and true color than my Contax/Zeiss analog camera. It isn't close. Same goes for the H2O.

This review reflects the sound that I am enjoying:

System, system, system. I heard the H2O in the same show as Zybar. I wasn't real fond of the sound either. It isn't anything like the next to live music of my system:

Henry Ho is John Gault's drinking buddy. But, then, WHO IS JOHN GAULT?

lonewolfeny42, thank you. 19th century craftsmen (Yes, they were men) are to be congratulated. Back then, this was the formal dining room. Built in china cabinet, and kitchen pass through are on the right.

I have not heard Henry's amplifiers, but I have spent hours on the phone with this man. I cant speak for his products (yet), but Henry is a class-act guy. He is an incredibly humble hobbiest that is very open, honest, and realistic about audio! He is about 4+ hours from my abode - I've been meaning to make it there for the past few months...  the weather is starting to warm up.....  now may be a great time!
