came out quite good.

It was in an awesome theatre at a very nice High School in Maine. superb acoustics, the entire room was treated w/pannels and the roof was all acoustic tiles...super fat. It sounded the same in the last row of the balcony as it did in the first row DFC.
My mic stand was positioned on the floor at stage lip and the LSD2 (in blumlein mode) was right behind the conductors head. In fact,. I needed a few more feet of height because he was sort of in the way.

the high school wind symphony opened, and they were pretty good. then the Stratham wind symph took over. they are a semi-pro symphony, nothing world class, but still very good.
Unfortunately, the LSD2 (a large diaphram coincident stereo microphone from Studio Projects) sucks batteries dead so I missed about 3 minutes of the best track. Sad
and...to top it off, I forgot my damn camera !
but here is a sample, for those interested.
www.nickspicks.com/symphonythe two files up here are lossless FLAC format. if anyone would like to hear more, lmk and i'll send you a copy of the show, or post the whole thing up here.
one track is "shenendoa lullaby" by the high school, the other is from the real band.
I'm fortunate that I now have an in w/the stratham WS and can record them anywhere anytime.
sweet! Hopefully, the'll be playing w/a big pro symph sometime in the future. I could get hooked on this shit easily. blumlein orchestral recording is hard to beat in terms of sonics.
