My current set up consists of a Wadia 850 connected directly to a pair of eAR1001 driving my new RM30S.  Interconnect is the MIT MI330Plus series II,  and speaker cable is MIT MH750 biwire (banana plugs).  The banana plugs don't connect so well to the RM3S inding post, so thinking of changing cables.  Will Analysis Plus be a good choice (since the jumper provided is this brand)?   :?:

I've tried a number oof cables, TG Audio, Cardas, Element on the RM40s I own and the best results I obtained were the bolder Nitro Bybee cables and Nitro Bybee jumpers.  They have a real affinity for the RM40s.  The TG Audio work better with my Meadowlarks IMHO. Tyson has also used this cable with success on his 40s and I believe is still using them.  The standard Nitos also work very well.

I recently replaced a bi-wired pair of Analysis Plus oval cables with Gregg Straley's Reality cables - less $$s I believe, and a nice improvement in resolution and dynamics.

Hi Matix,

I have seen just about every cable used with the VMPS speakers and can't say any stand out as being bad.

Even the Lowe's/Home Depot creations have sounded pretty good.

I personally like AudioQuest, Soundstring, Cyberlights, and Some Custom Silver/Copper blend cables I have used, called SSS Super Secret Silver.

At CES we used the cables from Brian Kyle (XTREME Cables) and they sounded great.

As far as the banana's not working well, you can switch them to the "sawtooth" barrel bananas (like the ones below) and they will work perfectly.

These bananas will work with your Vmps speakers: http://cgi.ebay.com/KnuKonceptz-BFA-type-Banana-Plugs-4-8awg-Speaker-Wire_W0QQitemZ5877995017QQcategoryZ32838QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I like them as they fit very tightly and won't fall out or be loose.  They're easy to use as there's two small screws you drive into the wire then screw the cover on.

I use Knukonceptz 10gauge silver plated wire with polyethylene insulation, at two bucks a foot it's a good deal. Btw a good source for some nice spade lugs is Luminous audio on Audiogon. You need a vice to crimp these suckers on but they are heavy duty.

I also thought I read somewhere that Brian can supply a longer binding post what will work better with bananas?

I may even opt for this on my new 30s as I am getting tired of using spades.

Spades are ultimatly the best connection due to the ability to create a tighter connection and more flat contact area.

Bananas offer ease of use, but a sightly lower grade connection.  The sawtooth barrels however offer a higher compression connection , and larger contact area than the bottle nose bananas.

The accessory that B, supplies is simply a washer/hollow shaft that fits over the solid shaft of the threaded binding post and keeps it from further out on the "post screw", allowing the banana to penetrate deeper into the Binding Nut.  It doesn't extend the length of the post, it it simply deepens the available length of the Binding nut's hollow shaft.

You can probably find something at the hardware store that would do the trick too.

Thanks guys, for all the suggestions.  I remembered reading someone has the eAR1001 powering a RM30 or RM40.  Will be good to know what is he using.   8)

I just happened upon this, but I think you are talking about "Soundguy" who has a pair of RM40s and uses EAR amps (I could be wrong)

He is currently comparing those with some NuFORCE Ref 9.02s.

I don't remember his cabling brand.
