The BellRays - Black Lightning

Latest release from SoCal's mighty BellRays - really difficult to find but worth it as it is their most refined effort yet. They sound like Tina Turner fronting the MC5 -there ain't nothing like the BellRays and they just keep getting better!

I love 'em (TV On The Radio, that is). Seen 'em 3x and they have a great laid-back intensity, live, too. I see you like Doves - good on ya! I have everything Doves have put out. I think I like Lost Souls most but it's too close a call....

Hi Chinaski : I`ve seen TV On The Radio live once ( Dear Science tour ) and they put on a great show. Actually one of the loudest shows I`ve seen in that venue - surprised me. re: Doves - UK bands have a really rough time breaking big on this side of the pond ( more so in the US than here in Canada I think ). I remember seeing Muse here on the Absolution tour at the same venue where I saw TV On The Radio. The theatre seats about 1500 and there might have been 600 people there. They seem to have overcome that lack of North American notoriety now, though

. But they're the first UK band since Oasis to do so ( except perhaps Radiohead circa The Bends) and 1995 was a long time ago...
