The Beatles - "Love"
This show took me back to the moment that I saw them, along with millions, as they were introduced on B&W television by Ed Sullivan on his Sunday variety show. After that the world changed. Every boy wanted to be just like them, and every girl wanted them.
If you like The Good Earth, then check out Only Life if you don't have it yet. The band does a nice cover of the Velvet Underground's "What Goes On'." In fact, Stanley Demeski (Feelies drummer) went on to join Luna as their first drummer, another band who was heavily influenced by the V.U. I have every Luna cd, as they are my favorite NY band.
Her two solo albums are pretty good, but in my estimate her best song writing was with Rilo Kiley, coupled with Blake Sennett's great guitar work, Pierre De Reeder's terrific bass, and the steady drumming of Jason Boesel. Together, the four of them made musical magic, both in the studio and in concerts. My favorite band of all time.
