I was a big fan of the Air recordings in the 70's/early 80's...I lost my original LPs way back when...so have been anxiously awaiting the re-release of them.

Air was a free jazz trio founded in 1971 by saxophone player Henry Threadgill, double bassist Fred Hopkins and drummer Steve McCall. They combined radical free improvisation with a strong sense of tune and equal emphasis on each instrument in the group.[...wiki...

More Air...

Quote
The second and final Air recording after drummer/percussionist Pheeroan AkLaff took Steve McCall's place is a bit unusual, for vocalist Cassandra Wilson is heard on three of the six selections. She does an expert job of fitting into this complex music, giving a strong blues feeling to some of altoist Henry Threadgill's originals; bassist Fred Hopkins is also in top form on these unpredictable and dynamic performances.

You took the words right outta my mouth Paul.  :banghead:

Yep, me too. I'm an old 70-80's headbanger :banghead: but once I lost all my hair, all that damn headbanging hurt my skull too much.  :jester:

But I ended up downloading two Nonpoint albums anyways after demo'ing Recoil. I also got Development.   (save the skull but ruin the neck)  :rotflmao:

Cheers,
Robin
  Glad to hear I'm not the only one out there that likes them. When I'm done importing all my cds onto my IPod, I plan on getting more of their cds. For now I just keep looking for used copies when we go to Double Deckers or I borrow more from our daughter.  :thumb:
