Start with "The Road To Hell".....
Diapason's 2006 "artist of the year," Andreas Staier was born in Göttingen, Germany, where he trained as a pianist but soon fell in love with the sound of the harpsichord, becoming passionate about its repertoire as well. Later he embraced the fortepiano also for its range of sound color. "Our perception of Mozart or Beethoven is transformed when we become really familiar with the repertoire that precedes them," he has observed. "Beethoven's Diabelli Variations appear in a new light once we know William Byrd's variations, as well as Bach's Goldberg Variations." With works by Mozart, Bach, Scarlatti, Boccherini, Clementi, and Schubert, this overview shows how Staier's mastery of the technical demands of both instruments allows him extract their full richness and potential.
That's how the Devil ,I mean Chris hooked me onto Chris Rea
