This group from Cleveland were one of the most promising bands from the early 70´s in that area. After their first legendary 1970 heavy-psych album the keyboardist changed, and the band left their garagey Doors influences to create their own sound.

The Richie Furray Band- Alive

From the Au Go Go Singers to Buffalo Springfield to Poco to Souther-Hillman-Furay Band to a solo career to pastor of Calvery Chapel in Broomfield CO. Richie still occasionally tours with his own band and makes spot appearances with Poco

I just got done spinning L'isola di Niente by PFM.

No one writes more beautiful melodies in the progressive music world than the Italians!

John Cougar Mellencamp - Big Daddy (1989)

I'm not a big Mellencamp fan, but this album is freaking amazing. Stripped-down,
roots-rock with some of the best lyrics you'll hear anywhere. Too bad he didn't
stay here very long.

Camouflage - Voices & Images (1988)

80's German synth-pop that sounds like a mix of Depeche Mode (Black Celebration)
and Ultravox (Lament). Nothing special here, but an OK listen.

Serj Tankian: Elect The Dead Symphony (2010)

Quote
Grammy award winning maestro of rock Serj Tankian is releasing his first live album that features a full orchestral performance of his critically-acclaimed debut solo rock album 'Elect The Dead' which showcased the writing and arranging prowess of a man best known for his inimitable vocals, incisive lyrics, and unwavering dedication to humanitarian causes. He then took the stage at the majestic Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to perform a very special orchestral interpretation of his critically acclaimed debut solo album 'Elect the Dead'. With The Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra at his side, Tankian's epic songs and operatic vocals take on a whole new sense of grandeur when accompanied with a full 70 piece orchestra. This unique meshing of two very different worlds of music was a vision Tankian has long wanted to make a reality.

New agey stuff...I think their very first(?) album was magical, "songs from a secret garden", somehow everything that came after fell short.

Secret Garden, earthsongs

Was really looking for some fado music, but couldn't find the few I have...came across this instead, an old favorite...great voice/voicing.

Dawn Upshaw here explores outstanding examples of the past century of French song, adding a brief detour into Spanish with a haunting gem by Osvaldo Golijov. The recital's centerpiece is Fauré's La Chanson d'Eve, a cycle of 10 exquisitely fashioned songs whose delicate subtlety and carefully weighed balance between light and shade are beautifully realized by Upshaw and her excellent accompanist, Gilbert Kalish, whose rippling piano in "Eau vivante" captivates. The pair also excel in the spare, mysterious "Crépuscule" (Twilight). Threaded throughout the disc are five songs by Olivier Messiaen, whose blending of spiritual faith and sensuous feeling often reaches ecstatic heights, as in the wildly virtuosic coloratura singing and keyboard demands of "Prière exaucée" (A Prayer Granted). Upshaw makes much of the sensuous close of the disc's opening song, "Le Collier," and the tenderly languorous "Amour oiseau d'étoile" (Love, Star-Bird). The elusive songs of Debussy's Chansons de Bilitis are given their full due as well, nicely set among Messiaen's more unbuttoned fervor.

pumpkinman - how do you go from a mega-strong choice like MD's 'Kinda Blue', (which I was listening to yesterday morning), to DC5? It boggles the mind.

And +1 for BM's 'Workbook', "Wishing Well" is one of the greatest 'unknown' songs of all time.
