The result, which pits gorgeous acoustic instrumentation (led by Francesconi's incredible acoustic guitar) against Lili De La Mora's dreamlike, sugared vocals is almost impossible not to fall in love with, being the very picture of dream-pop. Falling somewhere in between Slowdive and My Bloody Valentine without ever sounding like nu-gazers such as M83 or Ulrich Schnauss Francesconi has instead created a record that goes to the heart of the scene and forges serene, blissful pop music draped in the kind of production Robin Guthrie perfected in the early 80s. Still, at no point does 'Eleven Continents' seem retro and at no point does Francesconi allow the production to become similar to any one producer of the shoegaze era.
B.R. Stylers is an Italian reggae dub band founded in 2000.Their first debut was at Rototom Reggae Sunsplash in summer 2001. They also participated in the compilation Rototom Sunsplash Vol. 1 - Ital Reggae with the song Don't Sleep. B.R. Stylers played at festivals and clubs in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Germany and Poland, sharing the stage with artists like Zion Train, Revolutionary Dub Warriors, Jah Free, Mad Professor, Lee "Scratch" Perry, Horace Andy, Africa Unite and Adrian Sherwood
This is the first North American release from the North Texas based Sampson-Gamma Electric Company. Taking influences from the experimental side of the Punk/Alternative genre, combined with Electronica, NuJazz and Instrumental R&B overtones, one might think of this as a new age album upon first listen. However, it is certainly not its intent. The Sampson-Gamma Electric Company has crafted an album that is not only relaxing but includes nice steady grooves such as the first single \"Cold Blue\", along with some Punk Jazz avant-garde explorations.
